Every semester, thousands of young adults who have been raised in the mainline church show up on the campus of Missouri State University, ready to become who God and the world are calling them to be. Many of those students are beginning to take ownership of their beliefs, practices, and faith. For the first time in their young lives, they have the freedom and opportunity to explore who they are as spiritual beings. For many, this will mean stepping away from their family's faith practices and trying on some of their own. This is where Ekklesia comes in! As the only ecumenical, progressive, campus ministry at Missouri State, we are uniquely equipped and educated to help students through the ambiguity of this new path. Ekklesia is deeply committed to the traditions and theological convictions of the mainline church, and to developing leaders for the future of our Church. We offer a safe space for questions and doubts, as well as exploration and deep discussions, all while helping students answer the question "how will I serve the world that God loves?" Ekklesia strives to make our campus and world a more just, loving, and peaceful place through critical thought, prophetic action, and authentic spirituality. Join us today in developing future leaders for church and society who are grounded in love, peace, justice, and faith!
